Mass Collaboration - TED 2011 Tuesday Highlights Part One

For me the meta theme that emerged on the first official day of TED was mass collaboration. This emerged in many talks in many forms throughout the day and I will share more in the next post.

Tuesday morning began with another session of TED U. Here are the quotes and concepts that stood out to me.

Inspire Hope and See Positive Change.
In a discussion about the sweeping changes in the Middle East. (Will post source.)

I wish this was...
Artist, Candy Chang did a project in New Orleans, placing removeable stickers on empty storefronts so that individiuals could write in their wishes. The result was moving and often humorous.

It's like selling peanut butter and labeling it plutonium free...
Bill McDonough on focusing on the right things in his Cradle to Cradle discussion.

Facilitate the probability of serendipity by choosing where and how you spend your time.
John Hagel  (More on this in a future post.)

Don't wait to make your first million to make a difference in people's lives. Even small actions matter.
Mark Bezos (in a very humorous and poignant talk that hopefully TED will put online)
