The XX - If you don't know them you do now

I've had iTunes on random lately and this morning "Stars" by The XX played. It was a lovely surprise and I switched from random to an all The XX morning.

I first learned about The XX when their album XX was on a top ten of 2010 list on NPR. I ordered it song unheard. Then I fell in love. XX feels unvarnished and emotional; simple and honest yet layered with a groove that won't let go.

Then I read that The XX were kids in or just barely out of high school in England. Impressive artistic expression in ones so young. Never underestimate anyone.

If you don't have the XX CD yet, and you like what you've heard here, you should buy it. They are apparently working on a new album that will be released this year.
